Tottenham's struggles to create have been one of the biggest factors behind some fans' frustration towards Thomas Frank. The club are renowned for enjoying an exciting, free-flowing brand of football but it has been far from it. And this is highlighted by their terrible x G (expected goals) statistic this season. Frank's men have generated more expected goals than their opponents in just eight of their 22 Premier League games this season. Only Burnley and West Ham, who both sit in the bottom three, along with Fulham have won on x G fewer times. Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say Can't understand why we criticise Frank for managing the game second half, under Ange we would have lost 2-3. Mark, Darlington Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say Unpopular opinion, but I like Frank and given the injuries, I think most past and prospective Spurs managers would be about where he is now. League results are bad but I’d see where we are at the end of the season - hopefully things will get better. Jimmy, London Can the media give Thomas Frank a break please. With an injury list that long, many of whom Frank did not sign, he is doing OK. The Spurs fans need to get behind him. Stephen, London Premier Injuries assesses both the number of days lost to injury by first-team squads, along with the total tally of injuries that have ruled any given player out of at least one league match - eliminating data for semi-fit players who may be rested for a domestic cup game. When combining both factors, Spurs are among the Premier League's worst-hit sides this season. Tottenham have had 19 separate injuries in total - the joint-most of any club alongside Arsenal, Chelsea and Leeds - while they have also lost the second-most number of days to injury, behind only Newcastle. Thomas Frank's side are currently missing seven first-team players because of injury and that rises to eight if you add Lucas Bergvall who hobbled off on Tuesday. Included within that eight are Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison who are both yet to feature this season. While the Dane has understandably come under pressure for a pragmatic style of play, injuries in attack have been a contributing factor. Tottenham's head coach, however, has not faced as many fitness problems as predecessor Ange Postecoglou did at this stage of last season. After 22 match rounds in 2024-25, Tottenham had already amassed 25 separate injuries and lost 707 days to injury - both comfortably the highest tallies of any club at that time - as their squad adapted to Postecoglou's high-octane approach. Burnley v Tottenham (Sat, 15: 00 GMT) Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that the injury suffered to midfielder Lucas Bergvall is looking like a "longer one" but is still being assessed further. BBC Sport reported earlier today that there are concerns that the 19-year-old could be facing up to three months on the sidelines. Better news for Spurs is that on loan midfielder Joao Palhinha is progressing and could be "close" to making the trip to Burnley. Dominic Solanke, Destiny Udogie and Xavi Simons all got through the midweek game ok and will be available for selection. We'll bring you full quotes when we get them. Neil, London One swallow doesn’t make a season. We wee good for the first 45 mins. Pretty terrible for the second half. Frank hasn’t convinced anyone. Jim, East Grinstead Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say If Thomas Frank leaves it is 2 steps backwards. Don’t our fans realise that with the poor squad and many injuries, any manager/ coach would struggle. Stop harassing. Ferguson and Arteta went through difficult starts but hierarchy stuck with them and success came. Rob, Jersey The injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur is showing no signs of slowing down. Thomas Frank had just 11 fit senior outfield players to choose from for the midweek victory against Borussia Dortmund and during that game lost another. Midfielder Lucas Bergvall was forced off midway through the second half after a collision with a Dortmund player and reports suggest he is due for a period on the sidelines with a high ankle sprain. Notably, on this injury, a video circulating online appears to show the 19-year-old continuing to play when clearly in pain. After a consultation with the medical staff on the sideline, the teenager again hobbles back onto the field and continues to play on in clear discomfort. Frank will no doubt be asked about the status of Bergvall in this afternoon's news conference and why exactly he was allowed to play on during what is already a bit of an injury crisis at the club. Tottenham Hotspur It isn't just a game or two that players have been missing for Tottenham Hotspur and Thomas Frank. He has been without a whole host of players for lengthy chunks at a time. James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski are yet to kick a ball in competitive action since his arrival. Players that have missed at least five Premier League games through injury: And what about right now as we speak? Well, it doesn't make for great reading as a Spurs fan. Frank currently has eight men on the sidelines that would be certainties to be part of the first-team squad and potentially even starters were they fit. It’s not just Frank though. It’s a tag we've had for a very long time, for a reason. However, I can’t see him being around on Sunday if history repeats itself. Peter Burnley v Tottenham (Sat, 15: 00 GMT) Tottenham Hotspur Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank is due to speak to the media imminently. We'll bring you full quotes from the Spurs boss as and when we get them! And here's how things look for Spurs going into this weekend's fixtures. It's safe to say they are far from where they want to be down in 14th position but with a congested looking table and 16 matches still to play - anywhere all the way up to fourth, incredibly, remains in reach. This weekend's opponents Burnley sit firmly in the relegation zone in 19th, eight points from safety. Tottenham Hotspur While Tuesday evening marked a night of positivity for Spurs and Thomas Frank - they have no time to rest on their laurels. Between now and the end of February, their toughest spell of the season may well await them. This needs fixing regardless of who is driving the wheel. James Click 'Get Involved' at the top of this page to have your say He’s working with a bang average group of players that in the main, he inherited. Crazy to make yet another change - he should get at least a full season and 2-3 transfer windows. Mark Tottenham defender Pedro Porro, speaking to TNT Sports after Tuesday's victory: "The team today was very good. "When you play with intensity and everything on the pitch, you get the best things. In the first half today, the result was good but the most important thing is the three points. "It's very good for us. You have pressure in football every day, every game and it's normal when you have bad results in the past weeks. "In football, for me, the best result to win and the most important now is to stay together for the next game in the Premier League. The players need to take responsibility for some of that in particular, the senior squad members Skinny binny Paul Robinson Former Tottenham goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live A hugely important result for Frank. I'm a big advocate for giving a good coach and a good manager time. He was seen as the right man for the job in the summer and you don't go from 17th in the Premier League last season to challenging for Champions League places overnight. He needs to bring players in. There's a dressing room unbalanced in certain areas and there are players that have to take responsibility for the performances they've been giving in recent weeks. Money has been grossly overspent on wrong signings - Frank has been the victim of that. There have been injuries, suspensions, players missing. Against Dortmund, he had 13 players out. Before kick-off you looked at Dortmund, who were unbeaten in seven games, and everything seemed stacked against Tottenham. The atmosphere was so toxic at the weekend and it was only three-quarters full on Tuesday. Those who did come expected an underwhelming performance and to potentially be rolled over. The exact opposite happened in the first half. He got a tune out of his players and it is now a platform for him to build on. What I saw was not a performance where the manager had lost the dressing room. It wasn't full here - the fans voted with their feet - but that was a group of players that played for their manager. Frank is the right man for the job. Give him time. I don't think the problems lie with him. Burnley v Tottenham (Sat, 15: 00 GMT) Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke, speaking to TNT Sports after Tuesday's victory: "When we're all together - players, staff, fans - that's key. "We're all one club, we all want the same thing. We need to put the performances in on the pitch like we did tonight and hopefully we can carry on the momentum.
