Thomas Tuchel has revealed that he will 'reach out' to Ben White as he offers an olive branch to the former England star. The new Three Lions boss will officially start his tenure on January 1. His arrival could see White receive an international recall over two years on from his last involvement. White has not been included in an England squad since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Arsenal defender left the camp just two matches into the tournament after a reported falling out with Steve Holland. It resulted in an exile under both Gareth Southgate and interim manager Lee Carsley. Asked about the prospect of White returning, Tuchel explained: "Yes, I will reach out to him. "It should be a clean start and a clear narrative. It starts from January. "I will be in the stadiums from January. I will also not distract the players and they should just know: ‘Okay, the boss is there from January’. "Then I will of course try to speak to them, but also be respectful to the schedule that they have, because the schedule is busy in January, especially in the Premier League. " talk SPORT revealed last month that White is ready to make a return under Tuchel. The 27-year-old may have to wait for his recall, though, having been sidelined by knee surgery. White is not expected to make a comeback for the Gunners until March. Tuchel had been speaking after the draw for 2026 World Cup qualifying. He added that his first priority once he officially takes over from Carsley will be to watch his players live in the Premier League. England were drawn in Group K alongside Serbia, Albania, Latvia and Andorra during the ceremony in Zurich. The Three Lions will begin their campaign at home to Albania on March 21 in Tuchel's first match as manager. Meanwhile, their final match will be a trip to face the same opposition in November next year. © 2024 talk SPORT Limited
