Tottenham beat reigning champions Liverpool 1-0 in the first leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday night. Lucas Bergvall, who could have been sent off just moments earlier, scored a late winner to secure a crucial win for Spurs. It means Ange Postecoglou's side have handed the Reds only their second loss under manager Arne Slot. They will now take a one-goal advantage into the second leg of the semi-final at Anfield next month. During the game, Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a serious injury that saw him stretchered off, but fortunately, he is said to be conscious and now being treated in hospital. Bentancur was taken off the pitch on a stretcher during the first half of tonight's game after eight minutes of treatment. The midfielder seemed to collapse to the ground straight after attempting a flicked header from a corner. Speaking about the Uruguayan's condition, Postecoglou told talk SPORT: "Yeah, I've obviously only got limited information, so I'm not going to sort of go too deep into it. "But my understanding is he was conscious by the time we got to the dressing room. "He was actually, you know, I sort of had a look at him when he was coming off. He was conscious then. "But he's obviously been taken to hospital just to make sure everything's okay. "But yeah, we'll just have to wait and see. " Antonin Kinsky made the perfect debut and he's been speaking after his few days as a Tottenham player post-match. Kinsky explained to Sky Sports: "Yeah definitely [the best night of my life]. "I'm a big dreamer. I make my own visions of the future. This dream, I had never dreamt this one. "Amazing, I'm really happy for the whole club, I came three days ago and all the people are nice. " He was seen hugging family after the game and the goalkeeper has now explained who he was seeing. "[I was hugging]my sister, " he explained. "Yesterday, I got to know that there was a possibility I was going to be playing. "I called and they came, my sister her boyfriend and my parents. "It was so nice to have them here for this. I hope my dad is proud. " Virgil van Dijk is not happy with Lucas Bergvall not being sent off before he scored the winning goal. Bergvall clattered into Kostas Tsimikas with a late challenge in the build-up to a Liverpool chance. The Reds would go on to miss the opportunity but the referee did not go back to hand the Tottenham youngster a second yellow. Van Dijk made his thoughts known at the time and after the full-time whistle, he was straight to the officials to complain. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I think it was quite obvious that it was going to be a second yellow. "It was pretty clear and of course a minute later he scored the winner. "There's a linesman there, a fourth official there, there's VAR, and he doesn't get a second yellow. " It was also an incredible night for Lucas Bergvall. He scored his first Tottenham goal to win the game and give his side a massive chance of reaching the Carabao Cup final. At 18 years and 341 days old, he is the youngest player to score for Spurs in the League Cup since Gareth Bale in September 2007. The Czech goalkeeper only joined Spurs on Sunday and now he's kept a clean sheet against one of the best teams in Europe. Nothing is made of the incident and that's likely due to the fact Tsimikas didn't seem to stamp purposely. They're pushing up incredibly high and they're trying to force Liverpool into some errors at the back. It happened a couple of times in the first half, so it seems they want it to happen again.
