live Updated 3m ago The latest transfer news Follow deadline day on The Athletic Michael Regan/Getty Images Blackburn have made an offer to sign Martial Godo on loan from Fulham. The deal is likely to be subject to whether Fulham recruit another winger in the remaining hours of the transfer window with Millwall also interested. Head coach Marco Silva said on Thursday that the club wanted to strengthen their "wide attacking areas" and that a decision on Godo's future would be taken today. Fulham are interested in Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah, after ending their pursuit of team-mate Rayan Cherki. Godo, 21, spent last season on loan with Wigan Athletic in League One. He made 34 league appearances, scoring four goals and providing four assists. He has been with the Fulham first team throughout pre-season. Advertisement Christof Koepsel/Getty Images One of Germany’s longest running transfer sagas will not reach a conclusion — not today at least: Jonathan Tah will not be joining Bayern Munich. Bayern have a long standing interest in Tah, but have been unable to meet Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price, which is around €30million. It was thought that the club may redouble their efforst to sign Tah after a shaky defensive performance against Wolfsburg in a 2-3 win last Sunday, but with Bayern already having spent €142m this summer, including on Joao Palhinha and Michael Olise, the negotiations have been unable to progress. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Max Eberl, Bayern’s board member for sport, said: “Leverkusen gave us a deadline three and a half weeks ago and said: you have to pay this amount by then. I wrote to Simon Rolfes (Leverkusen’s sporting director; ed. ) and said: thank you for the deadline, thank you for the amount mentioned. We can’t meet either. That was three and a half weeks ago. That’s the true story. ” Mike Hewitt/Getty Images Bournemouth defender Chris Mepham is set to join Sunderland on loan. The 26-year-old will join the Championship club on a temporary basis for the rest of the season. The deal is still to be finalised and subject to a medical but Sunderland are confident that it will be completed. Mepham joined Bournemouth from Brentford in January 2019. He has gone on to make 121 appearances for the club, scoring two goals. Sunderland have made five signings this summer including four free transfers and could add another attacking signing between and now and tonight's 11pm deadline. Jayden Meghoma is undergoing a medical at Brentford ahead of proposed permanent transfer from Southampton. Brentford are finalising a deal for the 18-year-old left-back for a total package in the region of £10million. A four-year contract has also been agreed for the promising England youth international. Meghoma joined Southampton on an initial scholarship deal from Tottenham Hotspur in 2022 before signing a first professional deal in July 2023. A regular for the club's B team he has had limited opportunities in the first team, having made his debut in the EFL Cup against Gillingham last August. Presently, Southampton have three left-backs ahead of Meghoma, who was left out of the pre-season trip to Spain, including Ryan Manning, Charlie Taylor and Juan Larios. The 28-year-old has struggled for game time since joining Brighton from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer. He still has three years left on his Brighton contract and has not made an appearance for the Premier League side this season. Dahoud spent the second-half of last season on loan at Stuttgart where he made 14 appearances. During his time at both Dortmund and Stuttgart, Dahoud made 175 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 12 goals, providing 26 assists, and winning the German Cup and the German Super Cup. Tony Marshall/Getty Images Aston Villa have completed the signing of 19-year-old defender Yeimar Mosquera from Colombian side Orsomarso SC. The Athletic reported last week that Villa had finalised a deal to sign Mosquera, subject to international clearance. The Colombia youth international has immediately been sent out on loan to Real Union, the Spanish third-tier side part of Villa owners V Sports' multi-club model in which Unai Emery has a controlling stake. Mosquera arrived in Spain earlier this week and has already been training with his new team-mates. Mosquera is regarded as one for the future, having had relatively little first-team experience at Orsomarso or at previous club and first-division Colombian side, Deportivo Pereira, where he played in their under-20s. He joined second-division Orsomarso in January and made 20 appearances last season, scoring twice. Advertisement Stephen Mc Carthy/Sportsfile via Getty Images Watford are hoping to finalise a move for Festy Ebosele from sister club Udinese. The Republic of Ireland international is due to travel for a medical today. Due to the close connection between the sides, it’s unclear at this stage whether the move will be a loan or permanent switch. Ebosele joined Udinese in 2022 from Derby County after coming through the academy. The 22-year-old has made 38 appearances for the Serie A side over the last two seasons, while playing 3 times for his country. Ryan Pierse/Getty Images Another member of Chelsea’s ‘bomb squad’ under Maresca, Trevoh Chalobah, needs a move to re-ignite a promising career. Chalobah emerged in Chelsea colours in the 2020-21 season, making 20 league appearances and scoring three goals from central defence. He became more established in the following season, playing 25 times in the league, but his standing within the squad diminished last season and he is free to move should a suitable offer arrive at Stamford Bridge. The Athletic reported Palace wanted him earlier this week, but Chalobah could yet stay if Chelsea sell Axel Disasi. The 20-year-old central defender, who has been named in the England Elite squad for their Elite League fixtures against Turkey and Romania, was of interest to a number of clubs. Championship clubs are also circling for striker Tom Cannon, who has struggled to gain any game time under new manager Steve Cooper so far this season, and he could depart before the transfer deadline today, either on a loan or even a possible permanent deal. In terms of incomings at King Power Stadium, the arrival of Morocco international Bilal El Khannouss could be the last of the window. Leicester were also trying to bring in a central striker on loan but an arrival currently looks unlikely unless there are developments later in the day. Leicester have signed eight players in this window – El Khannouss, Jordan Ayew, Oliver Skipp, Facundo Buonanotte, Abdul Fattawu, Caleb Okoli, Michael Golding and Bobby De Cordova-Reid for £80 million. They have sold Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for £30 million and Harry Souttar has joined Sheffield United on loan. Nottingham Forest are working to add another Brazilian central defender to their ranks, in the form of Benfica defender Morato. The deal for the 23-year-old is expected to be worth around €15million and will see him join up with fellow countryman, Murillo. Morato was born in Sao Paulo but has been with Benfica since the age of 18 and has made 78 appearances for the Portuguese side, including 41 in the Primeira Liga. Former Forest captain Joe Worrall joined Burnley earlier this month, leaving Nuno Espirito Santo with four experienced options in the centre of defence, in Murillo, Nikola Milenkovic, Willy Boly and Andrew Omobamidele. Forest also hold academy product Zach Abbott in high regard, but the signing of Morato will give them further competition and cover. GO FURTHER Nottingham Forest working to sign Morato from Benfica Jake Kirkman - Camera Sport/Getty Images Everton goalkeeper Billy Crellin is expected to join League Two side Accrington Stanley on loan. The 24-year-old is still to make his competitive debut for Everton after joining from Fleetwood Town in 2022. A regular in the club's under-21 side, he has now been allowed to head on loan to continue his development following the signing of experienced goalkeeper Asmir Begovic earlier in the window. Crellin had interest from a host of EFL clubs but should see his move to Accrington confirmed later today. Another under-21 keeper, Harry Tyrer, also joined Blackpool on loan last week. Advertisement Getty Images Southampton manager Russell Martin says goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is "going to be great" once he completes his move from Arsenal. Ramsdale, 26, is set to join Southampton from Arsenal before the transfer window closes after the two clubs agreed a deal worth up to £25million ($32. 9m), as reported by The Athletic. Martin said on the England international: "He has experience of winning. Playing in a team in the Premier League that have to win where the expectation is huge. Playing internationally. He's hungry to become England's number one and he wants to be here. "I think that is so important. If you had asked me four/five weeks ago if we had a chance of signing him, I would of thought you were crazy. But since then, we've spoken a fair bit over that period. I pestered him a little bit. Even a week ago, I would've thought that it was not achievable but it's worth trying still. "He's seen the way we play. Watched a couple of our games. I think he admires the courage of our players and the way we play. I think he knows he has a chance to come here and express himself and show everyone what a good goalkeeper he is. "He's been frustrated over the last year over the lack of playing time. He will bring a winning mentality, a big character, and a big voice. I think he is going to be great. " Angel Martinez/Getty Images James Ward-Prowse is set to move on loan to Nottingham Forest from West Ham United. A straight loan has been agreed in principle that will see the England international, 29, move to the City Ground on a temporary basis after falling down the pecking order at West Ham. Ward-Prowse is now set to complete a medical ahead of a proposed move to West Ham’s Premier League counterparts. He has featured for just 16 minutes for new head coach Julen Lopetegui in the Premier League this season, coming on as a substitute in the opening weekend defeat to Aston Villa. Ward-Prowse joined West Ham from Southampton in a £30million transfer last summer. He went on to make 52 appearances in his first season at the London Stadium, scoring seven goals. GO FURTHER Erwin Spek/Soccrates/Getty Images Real Betis are set to complete the sale of midfielder Nabil Fekir to Al-Jazira of the United Arab Emirates in an express deal worth around €7million (£5. 8m; $7. 7m) including variables. With this money, plus the high salary that Fekir frees up, Betis are trying to sign Real Madrid's Dani Ceballos or Tottenham Hotspur's Giovani Lo Celso. It is yet to be seen whether Spurs will green light Lo Celso's departure. The Athletic previously reported that Real Madrid are listening to "fair offers" for Ceballos, valuing him at around €15m (£12. 6m; $16. 6m), and initial approaches have not been fruitful. From the money Betis are receiving for Fekir, €1m will go to the player, as the Spanish club owes him. "Let's see what money there is to replace him (Fekir)", said coach Manuel Pellegrini yesterday after his side's Conference League play-off second-leg win over Gryvbas. GO FURTHER Real Madrid considering offers for midfielder Dani Ceballos, with Real Betis interested Michael Regan/Getty Images Arne Slot says he’s not expecting any incomings at Liverpool on deadline day — but a number of the club’s youngsters will be heading out on loan. Stefan Bajcetic’s loan move to Red Bull Salzburg will be confirmed, while Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon are attracting plenty of interest from Championship clubs. Defender Nat Phillips is also hoping to secure a temporary move. There’s been a lot of speculation about Joe Gomez and Caoimhin Kelleher, but they are both training with Slot’s squad at Kirkby today. Nottingham Forest had a cash plus player bid rejected for Kelleher on Thursday and it would take a much bigger offer to test Liverpool’s resolve to keep the Republic of Ireland international. Catherine Ivill - AMA/Getty Images Neal Maupay has completed his season-long loan move to Marseille from Everton. The Athletic reported on Thursday that the two clubs had reached an agreement for the 28-year-old striker, with the deal containing a mandatory purchase option at the end of the campaign. Everton are set to pocket an initial €6million, with bonuses potentially taking the total package as high as €10m. Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala, meanwhile, is on Merseyside for a medical today ahead of a potential season-long loan move to Everton. There is no purchase option or obligation as part of the deal. Should the move progress as planned, the former Nottingham Forest player will become the club’s seventh summer signing. Maupay is unlikely to be the only player leaving Goodison before the deadline. Under-21 midfielder Hamid Djankpata, an academy graduate capped by his native Italy at youth level, is close to joining Serie B side Spezia for an undisclosed fee. The deal is understood to include a lump fee, bonuses and a sell-on. Advertisement Nikki Dyer – LFC/Liverpool FC via Getty Images Arne Slot believes new signing Federico Chiesa has all the qualities to flourish at Liverpool, but the Italian attacker is unlikely to make his debut against Manchester United on Sunday. The 26-year-old forward completed his move from Juventus for an initial fee of £10 million on Thursday and penned a four-year contract. However, after being frozen out by the Serie A outfit, Chiesa is short of match fitness and Slot intends to tread carefully with him. “He will train with us today, ” Slot said. “There is a bigger chance he is not in the squad for Sunday than he is. But if injuries come up in the next two days then we might need him. I don’t expect him to be in. ” More below GO FURTHER Arne Slot believes new signing Federico Chiesa has all the qualities to flourish at Liverpool Jadon Sancho returned to Manchester United this summer after reaching the Champions League final on loan with Borussia Dortmund. He had made significant strides in restoring a reputation that had been damaged during a challenging spell at Old Trafford. After mending his strained relationship with Erik ten Hag, it seemed the 24-year-old was back in the manager’s plans and would remain a United player for the 2024-25 season. However, Sancho was left out of Ten Hag’s matchday squad for United’s opening two matches of the league season, and he is available if a club meets United’s asking price. United’s preference is a permanent departure, with a valuation of around £25million ($32. 9m) but, as the deadline draws close, they may yet sanction another temporary switch. The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported Juventus and Chelsea were both interested earlier this week. Other suitors could always emerge in the window’s final hours, too.
