Trevoh Chalobah followed his brother Nathaniel in playing for England, becoming the 21st pair of siblings to earn caps for the national team Trevoh Chalobah is set to join up with the England squad to replace injured Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. The 26-year-old Chelsea defender is due to link up with the squad for England's final World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Serbia, but it has yet to be officially announced. The Three Lions have already qualified for next summer's tournament. Chalobah earned his first call-up under England manager Thomas Tuchel in May and then made his debut against Senegal. In September, Tuchel said Chalobah was unfortunate to be left out of the squad for qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia, and also didn't call him up for the subsequent October international break. Tuchel has been an important figure in Chalobah's career, having given him his Chelsea debut in 2021. Chalobah has featured in all but four matches for Chelsea this season, with the club third in the Premier League, in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and in the league phase of the Champions League. Guehi suffered a foot injury in Crystal Palace's Conference League win over AZ Alkmaar last week. There are likely to be other additions to the squad. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has said both winger Anthony Gordon (hip) and goalkeeper Nick Pope (a concussion) will withdraw from the squad.
