Aaron Ramsdale was spotted wearing a modified goalkeeper glove in Southampton's 0-0 Premier League clash with Fulham. The 26-year-old returned to the Saints' starting XI in the league for the first time since November following a spell out with injury. Ramsdale was seen wearing a four-fingered glove on his left hand as the England international damaged his finger. He underwent surgery on a suspected fracture and has now made his back into the side with his newly designed attire on show. The goalkeeper sustained the injury during Southampton's 2-0 loss at Wolves last month. Ramsdale was named in the England squad for the November international break but withdrew due to the problem with his finger. "Aaron has had an operation on his finger, he’ll hopefully be back this side of Christmas, " former boss Russell Martin said at the time. Alex Mc Carthy and Joe Lumley deputised during his absence, with Southampton losing four out of five league matches in that time. Their £25million signing is now back though and made a quick return to action in the opening half an hour at Fulham. He pulled off an excellent save with his modified glove to deny Alex Iwobi's curling effort on goal before it finished 0-0 at half-time. Neither side were able to break the deadlock by the end of the 90 minutes as Southampton claimed a third draw of the season. It was their first Premier League match since Martin was sacked after their 5-0 home thrashing to Tottenham. The Saints announced on Friday that former Roma boss Ivan Juric has become their new manager. Juric, who was at Craven Cottage for the draw against Fulham, has agreed to an 18-month deal at the club with a break clause at the end of this season. © 2024 talk SPORT Limited
